Another sporadic entry after some more uploads made earlier today. It's only been, like, 10 years on deviantart regularly promising less irregular posts :) I've now been in Zanzibar for two years, and things are still going well. The girlfriend's parents have been staying with us for the past 3 weeks, and they are now packing up their things and getting ready for their mid-afternoon flight back to the UK. So, after leaving the chaos of Thailand, I have swapped for the chaos of Zanzibar in East Africa. The chaos just runs a little slower in these parts... Key phrases seem to be "pole pole" (slowly) and "kesho" (tomorrow). Although the funny part about pole pole is that the word for sorry is simply "pole". So after arriving here thinking I was going to be an instructor, I found myself thrust into the position of manager/instructor. So no simple teaching and going home, oh no! And what is REALLY annoying me right now is that I have to go and do a visa run to Cambodia (3.5 hours there, 45 minutes in Cambodia and 3.5 hours back) because my visa runs out 20 days before I leave. When you consider that I gain 90 days each time I do a visa run, you would've thought I could have planned this a little better... Other stuff. Bah. Got to get in touch with DHL and figure out how much it's going to cost me to ship the endless amounts of stuff I seem to have acquired during my time here. Oh, and buy my grading slates... more cash being spent. And laundry. Grr. I hate doing laundry.
